Why is this website necessary?

You can spend hours manually searching for coin lists on the Internet. The Internet was suppose to make things easier. And it is easier to some degree in that we can at least visit each other online. But the problem is that it is very 'hit or miss' and very inefficient temporally. Imagine going to the library and finding all the books dumped in a pile in the middle of the floor. Now, the library has all the books, but they are not organized. Rather, we organize the books in a library to make them easier to search and find. Our website is essentially an organized library of coin listings.

It takes time to manually search for other people's coin listings online. Once you find a coin list, you spend another hour visually searching that one listing for the coins you are interested in. Wouldn't it be nice if all that searching were automated? Wouldn't it be nice if you could just tell the computer "hey, I want this coin?" and then the computer would go find the people who have it available for you? Alternatively, you could tell your computer "I have this coin, find all the people who will buy my coin?" and the computer would go out and find all the people who have been searching for your coin.

You could just sit back and watch it happen.

Ultimately that is what this website is designed to do. But to do it, the coin listings have to have a common structure. And they have to reside in a common database. And that is what our website provides. It is like an automated dating service, but it this case, it matches coins types and dates rather than people. It makes searching for coins far more easier and far more efficient.

How do trades take place?

Trades take place by personal email. Our website, our service, is not involved in the actual trading process. We provide a way to automate the searching and matching of coin interests, but the compatability for a trade is something only you and the other party can determine - by email correspondence. Once you use our website to find a coin match, email addresses are shared. We have served our part in providing that POTENTIAL matching. Where it goes from there is your business. We are not invoolved in the actual buying, selling, or trading. We are simply a fast and convenient way to cross reference other coin listings and coin interests.

How do I find a coin that I want?

There are two types of trades. In the most common case, you find a coin by cross referencing and searching the coin listings of other Members. See how to Cross Reference below. When you find a coin you like, you check mark one or more coins on their HAVE listing, enter your email address, a short comment, and click the 'Trade Request' button. Our system will send them an automated email message providing them with a list of coins you selected and how to contact you. You simply wait until they reply. Once that contact takes place, your email addresses have been shared and we are no longer involved. The two members work out the trade negotiations privately.

If I have a coin, how do I sell or trade it?

There are two types of trades. In this case, you have a coin and find a buyer or trader by cross referencing and searching the coin listings of other Members. See how to Cross Reference below. When you find someone who wants your coin, you check mark that coin (and others) on their WANT listing, enter your email address, a short comment, and click the 'Trade Request' button. Our system will send them an automated email message providing them with a list of coins you have available for them and how to contact you. You simply wait until they reply. Once that contact takes place, your email addresses have been shared and we are no longer involved. The two members work out the trade negotiations privately.

I am confused by all the lists. Please help.

As a member, you will have two listings for your coins. You can compose a public WANT list and a public HAVE list. These are the lists that are publicly available to other members. Each member has there own public HAVE and WANT lists.

Our service automates the cross referencing of WANTs with HAVEs and HAVEs with WANTs in the two kinds of trading discussed above.

In addition to your two PUBLIC listings, you have two MANAGEMENT listings or screens. One for your public WANT list and one for your public HAVE list. They determine what shows up on your PUBLIC listings. So essentailly you only have two listings but it appears like four. But two are management screens. For example, in the MANAGEMENT screen for your HAVE list, you can enter a coin and set it to 'hidden'. That coin will not be visible on your PUBLIC listing. You can change the hidden status to trade, sell, or buy at a later date and it will then show up on your public listing.

How does Cross Referencing work?

If you want a coin, you enter that coin on your management screen for your WANT list. Then you review your PUBLIC version and click the date of the coin. Our system will automatically search all other member lists for the date, mint mark and type of coin - matching your WANT to their HAVEs.

Similarly, if you have a coin that you want to sell or trade, you enter the coin on your managment screen for your HAVE list. Then you reveiw your PUBLIC version and click the date of the coin. Our system will automatically search all other member lists for the date, mint mark and type of coin - matching your HAVE to their WANTs.

Cross Referencing currently does not match the grade or condition of coins.

I will place images here of coins I receive. I just went live with the website in early Oct 2007 so no coins yet. I still got my fingers crossed.
